Every financial institution participating in the ACH Network provides general warranties to other participants in the processing of ACH entries. These warranties begin with the Originating Depository Financial Institution (ODFI) and flow downstream to the ACH operator then onto the Receiving Depository Financial Institution (RDFI). In turn, the RDFI makes warranties to the ACH operator and the ODFI for each entry it returns. For an ODFI, warranties extend to cover all origination activity, to include entries originated by external originators and any Third-Party Sender (TPS) or Third-Party Service Provider (TPSP). In addition to the general warranties, there are specific warranties as well. The specific warranties are based on the Standard Entry Class (SEC) code. With these warranties come indemnifications. The indemnifications place liability on the responsible party for any breach of warranty. Do you know what you are warranting? Do you understand the potential cost of the indemnification?

Please join Ameerah Needham, AAP, APRP, for this informative session as we discuss ACH warranties and indemnifications.

Just a sampling of what this webinar will cover:

  • Know which warranties and indemnifications apply to your financial institution
